Agile Methodology

i2N Business Analysts begin with discovery, interacting with Business Users to create a set of functions and requirements necessary for them to be efficient in their role. These are placed in a backlog as they are discovered throughout the sprints.

The Product Owner, Scrum Master, Development Team and Business Users come together in a variety of meeting types to continually interact with one another to ensure business requirements are met and updated. Daily scrums are held to ensure development is kept on time and on track, allowing for efficient delivery of working software to the users at the end of each sprint.

Users are given the ability to provide feedback during the development lifecycle and suggestions to improve the next iteration of software. This process is repeated over the duration of development until the final product is as close to what was initially required an is effective as possible.

Agile development ensures a high product quality with regular checkups, improved customer satisfaction with the Business and Product Owner involved, further project control and transparency, a faster return of investment with minimum viable products released iteratively and a reduce in the potential risk of the finished product being impractical.

Sprint Planning: At i2N, a series of meetings ensure everyone is heading towards the desired goals. Sprint planning set’s the goal for the next two weeks. Features and changes are assigned to ensure that no feature is out of reach. The daily Scrum is a short meeting designed to keep track of the development team, optimising efficiency and preventing development ‘rabbit holes’.

Sprint Reviews: Sprint reviews held at the end of an increment are used to evaluate ‘done’ goals, while the product owner will go over the product backlog with entire group and collaborate on future features.

Benefits of Agile: Enables flexibility and risk management by identifying issues early one and adapting to them while testing is integrated into the whole process. Increments allows for quicker time to using the product. An increase in customer satisfaction, and the ease of predictable costs ensure no surprise changes completely readjusting the budgets.

Agile Testing: As we employ an agile methodology our security cleared testers are recognised members of the development team. Carrying out functional and non-functional testing, they're experienced in many development frameworks, with flexible engagement with the customer.

Business Driven Development

Business Driven Development: With an increase in flexibility and shorter turnaround when changes are implemented, at i2N we have adopted a business-driven approach to development. This is the culmination of business strategy, requirements and goals that transform into the development process. By understanding the business side and acquiring the requirements you are presented with a final product that everyone will be happy with.

Satisfying requirements: BDD directly satisfies your business requirements by using them to drive the development model and transforming them into a business solution. We seek to completely understand the business in order to have the full picture of information to transform and improve the business process.

Automated Tests: In order to ensure maximum efficiency, we employ automated testing for low-level, repetitive and time consuming tasks. As well as being cost-effective, this allows the developing team to put their efforts into solving the more complex features and changes that happen throughout the agile process.

Gherkins: Part of what makes the BDD successful approach is the use of Gherkins. Not everyone has the technical know-how to fully understand the development process from a business standpoint. This is where Gherkin comes in. As a language, it allows for the ability to describe a software’s behaviour without detailing how it works. Meaning there is no loss of information or miscommunication for all parties involved.

Modern Slavery Policy

Modern Slavery Act – Guiding Principles This statement is made for and on behalf of i2N Ltd pursuant to Section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 (the “Act”) and constitutes our Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement (“Statement”) for the financial year ending 31 July 2017.

i2N is a limited company registered in England (CRN 03735340). It provides Information Technology software and associated services. Adhering to the highest ethical and professional standards is one of our guiding principles. We are committed to preventing slavery or human trafficking in any aspect of our business or supply chain.

We have undertaken an assessment of the risks of slavery or human trafficking and reviewed our existing business policies and procedures to ensure that the preventive measures are appropriate and proportionate to the level of risk. Our Recruitment and Selection policy requires all potential employees to provide evidence of entitlement to work in the UK.

Our third party supply chain includes providers of office supplies, security personnel, catering and cleaning services as well as businesses which supply us with IT systems and support. We require suppliers to be compliant with the Act and hold regular review meetings with them to monitor and audit performance. We require our suppliers to pay the National Living Wage.
